Helping Pinhoe Medical Centre

Today I visited Pinhoe Medical Centre, where I met with staff to hear about the pressures they are facing and their urgent need for expansion. Like many practices across Exmouth and Exeter East, demand for services is growing rapidly as our communities expand, and it is vital that local facilities are able to keep pace.

The team spoke candidly about the challenges of managing increasing patient numbers while maintaining high standards of care. Their commitment to serving local people is clear, but without investment in additional space and resources, the strain on the practice will only intensify.

To support their efforts, I will be writing to East Devon District Council (EDDC) to request Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding to help with the planned expansion of the practice. Securing this funding is essential to ensure Pinhoe Medical Centre can continue to meet the needs of local people now and in the future.

I want to thank the staff at Pinhoe Medical Centre for welcoming me and for their tireless work. I will continue to press for the resources and investment our primary care services so clearly need.

What Exmouth and Exeter East Families Told Me About SEND

Wednesday, 12 August, 2026
Few issues generate more letters and emails to my constituency office than special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Back in March, I promised to bring together parents, carers and professionals from across Exmouth and Exeter East to discuss the challenges facing local families.
