I had a great visit to the Met Office on Friday, and I just want to say a massive thank you to Professor Penny Endersby and her whole team for hosting me.
Although I already knew how vital the Met Office is—not just to our constituency, but to the UK and our international partners—I didn’t fully grasp the sheer breadth and scale of their work until I saw it firsthand.
I was truly blown away by the professionalism, expertise, and dedication of the team. Their services are relied upon by a vast range of government departments and private organisations, from aviation and emergency services to climate research and national security. The impact of their work is immense, and it was an honour to see it up close.
To everyone at the Met Office—you have my utmost respect, and I look forward to championing your organisation in Parliament. Thank you again for such an insightful and inspiring visit.
