Apprenticeships change lives. They give people the chance to earn while they learn, gain real skills, and build a career with confidence.
Britain has huge potential, and if we want to unlock talent in every community, we need to back apprenticeships properly. Under the last Conservative Government, 5.5 million apprenticeship places were created, helping people of all ages gain the skills employers need and opening up real routes into work.
We should be making it easier for local businesses to take on apprentices, improving access to training, and championing technical and vocational education alongside academic routes.
I am so proud to have Bicton College in our constituency, which offers a wide range of apprenticeships and plays a vital role in supporting young people and career-changers alike to gain the skills they need for the future. You can find out more about the apprenticeships they offer here: https://bicton.ac.uk/apprenticeships/
This National Apprenticeship Week, I want to celebrate apprentices, employers, and training providers across Devon who are helping to build the workforce of tomorrow.
