Today, I visited SpaMedica and met the team delivering ophthalmology care to patients across Exmouth and Exeter East.
Cataract treatment can make a huge difference to people’s independence and quality of life, so it was encouraging to hear how faster, community-based services are helping more people get the treatment they need, closer to home.
With the NHS under real pressure, cutting waiting times and expanding access to high-quality care must remain a priority. Services like this have an important role to play in supporting patients and easing pressure on our hospitals.
