Support my campaign to protect library provision across Exmouth and Exeter East

Our local libraries are used every day by people of all ages, for reading and learning, internet access, and community support.

Devon County Council’s Liberal Democrat administration is proposing major cuts to opening hours at libraries including Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Topsham, Pinhoe and Clyst Vale. In some places, the reductions are so severe that libraries could be open for only a handful of hours each week.

That’s especially disappointing given the promises made during the election to protect local services like libraries.

Reduced hours do not mean less need, they mean less access. Once services are scaled back, it is hard to rebuild what is lost.

I am opposed to any changes that weaken library provision across Exmouth and Exeter East. I am raising this directly with County Councillors and pushing for meaningful, accessible opening hours in every community.

Please respond to the official Devon County Council consultation here: https://devonlibraries.commonplace.is/.../main...

I am aware paper copies of the consultation are also available in local libraries.
