I recently had the opportunity to visit EDF Energy’s Exeter operation, where I met with the team to hear more about the important work they are doing locally. It was a valuable chance to gain a clearer picture of their role in supporting the region’s energy supply, and to better understand both the opportunities and challenges they are navigating.
As part of our discussion, I also spoke with the team about how I can support constituents through casework, particularly where energy issues directly affect households and businesses. Their insight into the pressures people are facing, from affordability to long-term sustainability, was extremely helpful.
Our conversation highlighted the essential contribution EDF makes in ensuring households and businesses across Devon have access to reliable power, while also progressing towards more sustainable solutions. Their perspective on balancing security of supply with the need to decarbonise was especially insightful.
I’m looking forward to continuing this dialogue and exploring ways we can work together to strengthen local energy resilience, support innovation, and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future for our community.
