This morning I visited the Royal Mail distribution centre in Sowton to see the Christmas rush in full swing. December is the busiest time of year for our postal workers, and it was a privilege to join them during their morning shift.
I really enjoyed chatting with the posties, hearing about their experiences, and lending a hand as they worked hard to get cards and parcels out on time. The dedication and good humour of the team was clear to see, even in the middle of the festive pressure.
I want to thank everyone at the Sowton distribution centre for welcoming me and for the tireless work they do to keep people connected at Christmas. Their efforts make sure families, friends, and loved ones receive their gifts and messages of goodwill across Exmouth and Exeter East and beyond.
