Today I had the pleasure of visiting The Swan Inn in Lympstone and trying a pint of “Gen Dit” – Royal Marine slang for “true story.”
The brilliant Swan Inn team have developed this special beer in collaboration with Bath Ales, and what makes it even better is that for every pint sold, 10% goes to RMA – The Royal Marines Charity, who do such vital work supporting Royal Marines and their families.
While I was there, we also discussed the implications of recent Government financial changes on the hospitality industry. It was a useful conversation and a reminder of just how important our pubs and restaurants are to local communities, not only as places to gather but also as vital employers and contributors to the local economy.
A big thank you to the team at The Swan Inn for their warm welcome, their creativity in developing Gen Dit, and for supporting such an important cause.
