I recently visited Sea Change in Budleigh Salterton, where I met with Marc and the team to learn more about the vital work they do for our community. Sea Change provides an important hub for health, wellbeing, and community support, and it was inspiring to see first-hand the difference this facility makes in people’s lives.
During my visit, Marc and I discussed how I can best support Sea Change in the months ahead. Community facilities like this play a crucial role in bringing services closer to people and helping residents stay connected, healthy, and supported.
One of the key issues raised was long-term funding. To make sure Sea Change can continue to deliver for local people, I will be following up with Devon ICB (Integrated Care Board) to press for greater clarity and support. Sustained investment is essential if facilities like SeaChange are to thrive and continue meeting the needs of our community.
I want to thank Marc for taking the time to meet with me and for sharing his insights. I will continue to work with SeaChange and with partners across the health system to ensure that this vital resource has the backing it needs.
